44.Camp 72 Reunion collection
 

 

The collection consists of two series.

 


 

The first series consists of a booklet titled, "Memories" and inside is a history of Camp 72 followed by page long recollections of individuals who lived in the camp. These people are David Akagi, Ruth Mori, Miyeko Nakagawa Sugwara, Sam Kawazoye, Gloria Sato, Edith Sakai and George Yutaka Motomura. The second booklet is the formal reunion book titled, "Camp 72 Reunion 1946-1948, July 27, 1996, Momiji Centre Scarborough, Ontario. Inside is a list of the attendees.

 


 

The second series consists of two photographs: a group portrait of the reunion attendees and an image of a model of the camp.

45.Campbell, Brazier, Fisher and McMaster Barristers and Solicitors fonds
 The fonds consists of seven series pertaining to the work of R.J. McMaster for Campbell, Brazier, Fisher and McMaster Barristers and Solicitors, as legal representative for members of the Japanese Canadian community. This material specifically pertains to clients who wished to rescind their deportation applications and to the clients McMaster represented at the Bird Commission. McMaster also coordinated research into the forced sale of Japanese Canadians' property for the Bird Commission. This collection holds material from these research initiatives. The series are described at the file level, indicating the names of specific individuals mentioned in the file.

 


 

The collection consists of legal documentation, professional correspondence, research materials, and personal research notes. It also contains two photographs.

 The Canada Post Collection contains a first day release Canada post Asahi stamp signed by Kaye Kaminishi, stamp release pamphlets, and an invitation card for the unveiling of the 2019 commemorative stamp honouring the Vancouver Asahi baseball team. Also included is a framed enlarged stamp and two first day release stamps presented to the Nikkei National Museum by Canada Post at the unveiling on 24 April 2019 at the Nikkei National Museum & Cultural Centre. A new accrual features two copies of pages 27 to 32 and one copy of pages 79 to 80 from the publication 2019 Collection Canada. The publication features Canada Posts stamps and collectibles from the year 2019.
