This collection consists of documents pertaining to the sale and lease of land, photographs of Tatsuo Saito, a basic genealogy and a blueprint to the Japanse Hall in Pitt Meadows.

 

biography

 

Michi Saito is the wife of Tatsuo Saito who were married Jan 14, 1939. They had three children together Kenichi, Ryoko & George.

 


 

Senjuro Saito who was born in 1885 in Japan immigrated from Shizuoka Ken, and married Kane Tsuneki who was born in 1894. The Saitos had 7 children - Shohe, Minoru, Masao, Hitoshi, Tatsuo, Yoshihisa (all males) and Kikue (female). The family were farrmers and bought a house in Pitt Meadows on Feb 6, 1923 and owned it until the Second World War broke out. At times, Senjuro worked as a logger. Places lived include North Vancouver, Port Hammond, Westwold, North Kamloops and Surrey. Documentation has shown that Kane Saito, the mother of Tatsuo, sold a plot of land in the 1942. Furthermore, Tatsuo Saito leased some farm land to another person in the same year.

 


 

Tatsuo's uncle was Jiro Kamiya.
