scope and content | This collection consists of six dress designing booklets bound together by a shoestring, published by the National School of Dress Design in 1946. Also included is and one page featuring sketches of fashion figures. It belonged to Angela Masue Sakai (nee Tasaka), a former tailor. |
biography | Angela Masue Sakai nee Tasaka of Hollywood Dressmakers on 3000 Block West Broadway, Vancouver, BC. Before the war she was a tailor with her late husband, Mr. Ise. Mr. Ise was Masue's first husband. After Mr. Ise died, Masue married Daniel Sakai. Masue adopted her younger brother, Kiyo, and she had no children of her own. Masue passed away while she was in her mid 90s. Kiyo married Haru (Sylvia).
