The collection consists of two series. The first series is of photographic images, and the second series consists of correspondence.

 

biography

 

Alan P Allsebrook was born in 1927 in Nottingham, England, living in Kaslo BC Alan attended high school in Kaslo, where he met Japanese Canadians, of which he befriended many of them. During the internment years, Alan visited the patients at the sanitorium in New Denver, BC, when he could arrange transportation. Many of these friends sent pictures of themselves to him with images of their growing families. Alan's occupations included being an artist, rancher, and motel owner. Alan P. Allsebrook died in 1976.
