The file consists of textual records from 1956 to 1967 relating to the Uyeda Family home movies. These include receipts for Yonezo and Michiyo Uyeda for the purchase, maintenance, and repair of the home movie equipment. There is also a newspaper clipping, and typed and handwritten lists created by Teruko or Michiyo which describe the places visited at Expo 67 in Montreal, and Expo 74 in Spokane. The clipping and written lists correspond with the Uyeda home movies documenting the same subjects:

 


 

Envelope addressed to Mr. Y. Uyeda with return address Ramsay’s Vogue Studio in Nelson, B.C, a camera and film and photo supply store. In this envelope are the following contents:

 

- Receipt from March 1 1956 to Mr. Y. Uyeda for 8mm film “Champs of the Chase” and a can.

 

- Receipt from February 11 1956 to Mr. Y. Uyeda for a Showtime Projector, extra lamp, film desk[?], splicer, and film cement.

 

- Receipt to from February 13 1957 Mr. Y. Uyeda for a Cine Kodak Medallion 8 Camera, its camera case, and an 8mm daylight magazine.

 

- A 1957 personal typewritten letter written from Ramsay’s about the Medallion 8 Camera.

 

- Receipt from June 26 1957 Mr. Y. Uyeda for a Weston Model 853 Direct reading light meter

 

- Receipt from April 1 1959 to Mr. Y. Uyeda for a lens.

 

- Receipt from April 10 1959 to Mr. Y. Uyeda for another lens.

 


 

Also loose, separate from the above enveloped. are the following:

 

- Ca. 1962 - Typewritten list of exhibits visited at the Seattle World’s Fair. This list likely corresponds with the home movie film 2025.1.8.1.32.

 

- Ca. 1962 - A partially filled out newspaper clipping and coupon to order films and photographs of the Seattle World’s Fair.

 

- Receipt from May 28 1966 to “Miss Mickey Uyeda” for the repair of a film projector.

 

- Receipt from June 17 1966 to Miss Michiyo Uyeda for a projection screen.

 

- Ca. 1967 - A handwritten list of Pavillions visited at Expo 67. This list likely corresponds with the home movie film 2025.1.8.1.16.

 

- A piece of paper with Japanese writing.

 

- An invoice marked as paid from November 12 2020 to Roger Pratt for the digitization work of the Uyeda Family home movies, and purchase of the hard drive in which the digitized films were uploaded to.
