descriptionA rectangular yellow cardstock card printed and typewritten in black ink that reads, "Serial No 14231, Name Minamide (Ushiye) Mrs Bungoro..." On the bottom line is Mrs Minamide's signature carried out in Japanese characters. To its left is a print of her thumb in black ink. On the reverse it reads, "The bearer, whose photograph and specimen of signature appear hereon, has been duly registered in compliance with the provisions of Order-in-Council PC 117... Vancouver August 14th, 1941." In the bottom right hand corner is a black and white image of a woman wearing a collared short sleeve dress with her hair parted in the middle and loosely pulled back.

 

history of use

 

The card belonged to the donor's step-grandmother. And was issued to her during the internment period by the Custodian.
