The file consists of a handwritten memoir (in Japanese) of Mr. Kishizo Kimura written between 1967 and 1974. The memoir documents the circumstances of the disposal (by sale) of the fishing boats owned by Japanese fishermen. Within the manuscript are photographs and other forms of documentation such as envelopes. A note attached to the memoir reads: "This is the Documentary Record and some Episodes in connection with the disposal of Fishing Vessels owned by the people of Japanese Racial Origin. The Addendum is the Partial Record and Episodes regarding the advisory committee on the Japanese owned properties (Rural - Vancouver - Area). These require grammatical and "KANJI" corrections by Mr. Tsutae Sato, ex- principal of the Japanese Language School."
