| name | Photograph |
| date | Circa 1937 |
| description | This item is a black-and-white photograph of two men sitting in the rumble seat at the back of a convertible Pontiac roadster. The two men are identified in the caption below as Tabayashi-san (Kiheiji Tabayashi) and his brother-in-law Mike Maruno, and was taken in Seattle in 1938. Both men look at each other and appear to be laughing. Possibly they drove to Seattle for a baseball game, as Mike Maruno played for the Asahi baseball team, who played games in Seattle. Reverse has a blue ink stamp reading "Crystal Finish Photo Service" with a printing date of December 29, 1937. This contradicts the date provided in the caption (1938). |
